Construction crews will repair pavement on the lower eastbound lanes of Spillway Road on Thursday, September 24. Work will happen along the dam, which crosses the Ross Barnett Reservoir between the Fannin Landing and the Northshore Parkway intersections.
Contractors will close lanes in different spots throughout the day. Drivers traveling eastbound over the dam should expect slowdowns and possible delays. Workers will be on site, and signs will mark closure points.
Residents living within two to three miles of the reservoir who use Spillway Road for daily commutes or errands should allow extra time. The repairs are scheduled for one day, but weather or unexpected issues could extend the work.
Emergency vehicles and local law enforcement will be present to help keep traffic moving and ensure everyone’s safety. All drivers should watch for workers and equipment along the shoulder and follow posted speed limits.
Normal traffic patterns should return after the work is complete. Plan ahead if you need to cross the dam Thursday.
